1996
Poynette Ironworks was founded in Poynette, Wisconsin, by brothers Bob, Guy, and Kim. They started by repairing dumpsters, operating from a single building with a rusty pickup truck and a John Deere tractor. Their mission was to “Kick our competition’s butts … by spoiling our customers rotten.”
Over the next 25+ years, Poynette Ironworks expanded into a 110,000-square-foot facility employing over 85 individuals. They delivered more than 30,000 truckloads of containers, totaling nearly 400 million pounds of steel. The company became the Midwest’s largest and most reliable manufacturer of large-scale, heavy-duty steel products, specializing in refuse and recycling containers for various applications.
